Banana Bread Latte

Posted by Beach Loveland on

It’s finally fall! While it’s not cooling down in Columbia too much just yet, we’re getting closer to blustery days, fall leaves and warm fires. We’re all just waiting to break out the boots and scarves, I know it! One of the best things about autumn is having hot drinks, especially lattes. Enjoy the tastes of espresso, banana, and walnut which are perfectly wrapped up in a warm cup of steamed milk (or another one of our non-dairy options) for the perfect Banana Bread Latte. Chris (who created this drink) feels the banana bread signals the start of the season. “The genesis for this drink was a fond memory of my grandma always having a fresh loaf of banana bread...

Barista Spotlight: Meagan

Posted by Beach Loveland on

Meagan started working at Loveland Coffee in 2016. Before working as a barista here, she’d been through the kiosk a few times and really enjoyed the coffee and community. She had another job that she wasn’t thrilled with, so one day she asked Travis if Beach had any openings. She sent him her resume and told him how much she loved the company and wanted to become a part of what they were doing! Next thing you know, she was working in the kiosk and getting to know all the amazing Loveland customers. Coffee has been a part of Meagan’s life since childhood. Her dad was a big coffee drinker. As a kid, her dad would share his thermos of...

Drink of the Month (Frappé) August 2017

Posted by Beach Loveland on

No question that August is HOT!!! It’s the perfect time of year to “Treat Yo Self” to a Frappé! It’s a deliciously sweet way to cool down as we close out the summer. The frappés deliver sweet, frothy caffeine and they are made with real food ingredients that we feel good about giving to our customers.  You can order a regular Frappé in mocha (pictured below), white chocolate, java chip, or coffee flavored with a touch of honey- that’s an option with lower sugar. Or make any of your favorite specialty drinks into a Frappé. Originally, we developed an ice cream base that tasted great but had a whole lot of sugar and we couldn’t use different milk options since...

Meet Your Barista: Travis Hoyt

Posted by Beach Loveland on

Travis began working for Loveland Coffee in April of 2016. He enjoys getting out and exploring nature and connecting with people through coffee. What drew you to Loveland Coffee? I left the beer industry in March 2016 in hopes of starting my own coffee shop in the Lexington area. I had a conversation with a close family friend about my passion and aspirations for the coffee industry. I came to learn that this friend of mine had been roommates with Beach Loveland in the past and was good friends with him. He encouraged me to seek advice from Beach, who had been extremely successful in his pursuit of starting his own coffee business in Irmo. I spoke with Beach on...

Did someone say Iced Tea?

Posted by Beach Loveland on

This month we are featuring two Specialty Iced Teas!  While we love coffee, it’s always good to branch out and try something a little different.  Both are refreshing and hit the spot on these HOT summer days. First up is the Thai Tea Latte.  It is a special blend of Indian black tea, our hand scraped vanilla sugar, and almond milk, served over ice.  This can also be served as a traditional Iced Tea (without the Almond Milk) and available to add a Flavored syrup such as Black Raspberry or Pomegranate.Next in our line up is the  Matcha Green Tea Latte. This is a blend of ceremonial quality matcha tea, our hand scraped vanilla sugar, and whole milk, also served over ice.  Walking around...

Meet Our Newest Barista: Haylie

Posted by Beach Loveland on

Haylie is the newest barista to join the Loveland lineup. She moved to Columbia in October of 2016 from Colorado and began working at Loveland Coffee in April. Although business is sometimes slower in the afternoon, we had several customers come through the kiosk during our interview. I enjoyed getting to see Haylie in action- I could tell that she cares about coffee and people. What drew you to Loveland Coffee? I really liked the culture. Living in Colorado Springs, there were a ton of coffee shops. Like, coffee shops on every corner. I want to say that there were 30 coffee shops in the city. Colorado Springs is a city of 470,000 people and Columbia is a city of...

This Ethiopian Coffee is a MUST have!

Posted by Beach Loveland on

Our Newest Ethiopian Coffee is something truly unique and amazing.  The whole crew over at Loveland Coffee have been loving it for the last few weeks.  So much so that that we had to reorder a larger lot of Green Coffee to ensure that we would have plenty to get us through the Spring and early Summer months demand.   This Coffee comes from the Kochere region.  It is southwest of the town of Yirga Cheffe and near a little village of Ch'elelek'tu in the Gedeo zone. While a "classic" Yirga coffee, all of the sub regions tend to have different flavor profiles. For example: Adado - stone fruit, Konga - citrus and stone fruit, and for Kochere, it has a strong fruit tea...

Drink of the Month: Cinnful Dolce

Posted by Beach Loveland on

We are excited to launch our New Loveland Coffee Blog, as we love to engage and educate our fellow coffee lovers! Chris Rawlings, a barista at Loveland Coffee, was recently interviewed by Elisheva Hinkle, a local blogger of Teen Musing, and she asked him a few questions about his newest drink. Elisheva will be our guest Blogger and we are happy to have her on board!   Every month or so Chris starts working on a new drink for the Loveland customers. With this drink, I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes look at how it was made. Chris even let me grind beans, insert the portafilter, and swirl the milk! I got to keep the drink I helped make and I'll tell you right...
