Meet the Bloggers

Posted by Beach Loveland on

Elisheva Hinkle has been writing for the Loveland Coffee blog since June 2017. Last February she was looking for a job and being a Loveland Coffee customer, asked Beach whether he’d thought about having a blog on the company website. He responded enthusiastically; building a blog had been an idea in the back of his mind for a while. In June, Elisheva and Jessica (Loveland) began collaborating. They worked together to craft the sound and style of the new Loveland blog and ended up with 8 drink of the month posts, 6 barista highlight posts, and one in celebration of Loveland Coffee’s 5 year anniversary. "I was able to grow tremendously as a writer working with Loveland Coffee. Learning to...

March Drink of the Month - Dublin

Posted by Tech Support on

Now that spring is finally around the corner—and it couldn’t have come sooner for some—what is the first thing you think about? The warmer weather, blooming flowers, or all things St. Patrick’s Day?  This month Loveland Coffee is offering the Dublin, an iced BBA (Bourbon Barrel) espresso with Irish cream inspired by this lucky holiday!  Now, before anyone starts asking for Happy Hour, our drink isn’t a true Irish cream. Traditional Irish cream is a cream liqueur usually based on Irish whiskey, cream and coffee that is either served with hot coffee or mixed drinks.  Our BBA Irish cream has been crafted by using lightly minted simple syrup as our base, coupled with six shots of BBA espresso to create...

February's Drinks of the Month - Double the Love

Posted by Beach Loveland on

After freezing temperatures and snow warnings, we’re ready to leave January behind. With the weather here in South Carolina remaining predictably unpredictable, one constant is good coffee! Regardless of weather, February's beginning means it’s time to reveal our two specialty drinks available this month.  First up, the Raspberry Mocha. This can be made with black or white chocolate, depending on how rich you like the flavor to be. A classic drink, black raspberry and chocolate come together to create the perfect balance of sweetness. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, treat your sweetheart with this sweet treat! Or if you know someone special who would appreciate some love in their day, surprise them with this delicious mocha. Our next drink is the...

Meet the Staff: Beach Loveland

Posted by Beach Loveland on

The man, the myth, the legend...the founder of Loveland Coffee, Beach Loveland himself! From a very young age, Beach was learning to appreciate coffee. His mom, a diehard coffee drinker, would share a few sips with him from the time he was five years old. It was always a special treat and marked the beginning of a long relationship with coffee.  For over 10 years, Beach was working in the service industry. While waiting tables he discovered that he had a knack for working with people. But he didn’t want to wait tables permanently. He was passionate about photography and design, appreciated artisan craftsmanship, and he wanted to interact with people. In the process of searching for a job that...

Drink of the month: Russian Tea

Posted by Beach Loveland on

While the temperature keeps dropping, you can warm up with our January special: the Russian Tea! A combination of spiced Chai tea and orange give this tea a rich flavor and the right amount of spice. If you’re not a coffee drinker (and we’re not judging) this is a wonderful drink to have instead! Tea can help you to stay hydrated and contains less caffeine than a coffee of the same size, so you’ll still feel alert and refreshed after drinking.   Cider isn’t the only fruit drink to be enjoyed in the winter! It’s a Russian habit to add fruit or sometimes even jam to tea! We decided against jam in our tea, but you can read about the...

5 Years of Love

Posted by Beach Loveland on

On Tuesday, December 12th, 201, we celebrated the fifth year anniversary of Loveland Coffee.  We threw a party, smoked some delicious BBQ and drank “The 1825 Concentrate Brew.” (An Amber Ale named for the number of days we’ve been open that incorporated our coffee concentrate used in a home brew beer from an incredible customer.) We invited everyone to the roastery to share conversation, good food and coffee. Barbeque was from Old Timey Meat Market and cooked by Low Country Smoke Co. all day for full, fantastic flavor. Sides were from Primal Gourmet (one of our favorite local restaurants). Cookies created by Blue Flour bakery, as beautiful as they are tasty! If you came out to celebrate with us, thank you...

Meet the Staff: Mrs. Loveland Coffee

Posted by Beach Loveland on

While she doesn’t roast beans or prepare lattes, Jessica is an integral part of the Loveland team. Behind the scenes, she’s been encouraging and supporting Beach in all of his business ventures. Helping others to improve the quality of their lives and encouraging people are two things Jessica’s very passionate about. This year she’s taken on the role of an office manager, where she’s able to use those skills in all types of situations! “We want to bring joy and warmth, which excellent coffee often does, on a deep level, that only caring staff can provide.”     --Jessica Loveland We’re a coffee kiosk, but more than that the Lovelands want to promote community. Folks coming to the drive through are able...

Drink of the Month: Hot Buttered Rum Latte!

Posted by Beach Loveland on

November is a month rich with memories. While we prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations it’s important to take time to reflect on the moments that matter, in the past and in the present. Why not take a moment to rest, reflect, and enjoy a cup of our newest latte? The hot buttered rum latte is warm and frothy with just the right amount of spice. Creating a new drink takes experimentation and trial and error. Chris says that “a new coffee drink requires an idea, quite a bit of research, and just a little luck.” This latte is especially lucky! Rum is a unique flavor and a challenge to imitate. The base for this drink is a delicious creamy...

Barista Spotlight: Chris

Posted by Beach Loveland on

Chris Rawlings has been working as a barista at Loveland Coffee since November of 2015. He and Beach met when Chris began buying coffee from Loveland. Chris also catered for the wedding of Beach’s sister-in-law years ago! After becoming friends and learning of Beach’s purpose in the coffee industry, Chris began working with him.  Coffee is something that brings people together and that’s what makes it special to Chris. “Whether you're sitting in a chic cafe in Austria, sipping an espresso at the feet of the Alps, backpacking 15 miles deep in the middle of the woods of North Carolina or sitting in your car in Irmo, we can all come together over a great cup of coffee.” He has an...
